Changing user passwords is one of the most common questions our support team receives. Many times employees or other system users will forget or miskey their password multiple times until they have either been locked out or become frustrated with their inability to login. While the process is self-managing, there are times you will need to intervene to help expedite the process. The following steps should help you with either of those scenarios:
To Reset a Password
Select the employee that you need to reset the password for. (Hint - This process is the same for all modules in AgileHR). When you see the employee detail screen for the employee, simply follow the screenshots you see in Figures 1, 2 and 3.
Figure 1 - Employee detail screen. Clicking Reset Password will reset and
e-mail the employee a new password.
If the process for resetting the password was successful, you will see the message shown in Figure 2. If you see this message, the password was changed and an e-mail was sent successfully from the system. Make sure your employees check their spam or junk e-mail folders for the e-mail you see in Figure 3.
Figure 2 - Password reset and e-mail sent confirmation message.
Figure 3 is a screenshot of what the e-mail should look like that the employee or user will receive. When they click on the link, they will be redirected to the login page, where they can use the included password to authenticate for the first time.
Figure 3 - Example of e-mail users will receive with new password
and link to login to the system. Password should be changed
upon first login.
Following those 3 simple steps should ensure that you are able to reset user passwords and allow them back into the system.
